Thrilled to find your website. My great
grandfather (Edwin Sharp)left Biddenden in the early 1860's, came
to the U.S., and fought for the North in our Civil War. Eagerly looking
forward to visit June 30 and July 1 with my wife and daughter. |

I was born and brought up in the village
and lived there until I went away to college. My family lived in Church
cottages and I still have an aunt in the village. I would be pleased

Great,great grandfather came from Biddenden
around 1840 to Ogelthorpe Co. Ga. He was a stone cutter. I love your
site. Is there a way I could purchase a book of pictures or postcard
folder of sites in Biddenden? I am trying to piece together a family
history and it comes home to Biddenden. Perhaps there is a tourist
booklet on the town? Great,Great,Grandfather was William Day. His
family is buried there somewhere. They mention him and brother Edward

Have visited Biddenden many times and
always get a wonderful welcome at Clarissa's. The meringues served
there are great. We have often travelled down just for morning coffee.
The church is beautiful as is the rest of the village. Wished it was
further away so we could have an excuse to holiday in Biddenden. |

Just thought I would leave a message
informing all members of Andrews Church of Fruitful Alliance in Ashford
and the surrounds that a planning application will be submitted in
January for a meeting hall in Wye. The hall will seat 1100 and have
flatlets for 25 families and 43 singles/couples. The local councillor
is supportive as is the borough planning officials. The construction
of the meeting hall will boost tourism and the local economy. It is
hoped construction will be complete by April 2003 and the Archbishop
together with Andrew himself have agreed to perform the opening. I
will post more info as it becomes available. HALLELUJAH ... Peter

My ancestors came from Biddenden sometime
between 1610-1730 (the Besbeach family). I am coming to visit on July
